Abstract:
An X-band balanced amplifier for the application of the ground based radar is designed in this work. The CE3512K2 gallium arsenide (GaAs) microwave low-noise amplifier is employed as the fundamental signal amplification device, while a directional coupler operating at 9.35 GHz is engineered to achieve power division and recombination of microwave energy. Design methodologies for both single-stage and two-stage balanced amplifiers are proposed, with detailed optimization schemes provided for each circuit section. The implemented balanced amplifiers exhibit a bandwidth of 100 MHz, achieving a gain of 9.62 dB for the single-stage configuration and reaching a gain of 21.76 dB for the two-stage configuration at 9.35 GHz. No oscillation is observed, confirming stable operation and demonstrating effectiveness for practical microwave engineering applications.
