Abstract: Some problems such as range estimation, parameter calculation, hardware structure for an 8mm battlefield surveillance radar are described in this paper. The range formula in which phase coherent accumulation and non-phase coherent accumulation are considered is derived. The digital signal processing algorithm in this radar involves in pipeline structure.According to this feature, whole hardware system adopts six ADSP21060 digital signal processors. The hardware is so smart that this algorithm is implemented effectively. The digital signal subsystem is connected with antenna control subsystem and a notebook computer by extensive serial port and parallel port respectively.
