Abstract: The paper presents VxWorks, a preemptive real-time multitask operating system(RTOS) applied in radar system, especially emphasizes the essential of the application of VxWorks operating system in multifunctional phased anay radar. It analyzes the good qualities of the VxWorks operating system; pointed to VxWorks's shortcoming in graphics processing and existing hardware condition of radar display system, this paper points out the technique and its detailed implementation of high resolution raster graphics display in VxWorks operating system. This method can be widely used in any radar system whose graphics board CPU based on TMS34010 or TMS34020.
