Abstract: This paper is centered on radar signal processor for VTS( Vessel Traffic Service )system. The system is based on a real-time signal processing board whose mechanism is DSP + CPLD. Some methods including map masking, two pole filtering, matched filtering, STC (Sensitivity Time Control), CFAR, and rain clutter processing are applied to process original radar video signal by using two C6X DSP chips and one CPLD chip. With the advantages of DSP, this system can extract all kind of information about target vessels from noises and cluttes, detect,locate and display them and at the same time generate reports on these information. This processor has been put into use and the effect is desirable.
