Abstract:
A novel method of failure compensation for 2 D solid state active phased arrays is presented. Based on the failure element rectangular cut and linear programming, it is suitable for real time compensation of any multi elements failure distribution. In the case of maintaining the array two main plane side lobe equal to ideal ones, the array average side lobe level (AVSLL) is optimized by the linear programming. Due to the real algorithm, the array non failure element amplitude will be adjusted only. The theoretical analysis and simulated results show that this method is available in the practical engineering applications.
