Abstract: A survey of radar target recognition technique is given in this paper. 4 classes of target recognition techniques which based on the moving and jet engine modulation effect, distribution of poles, high resolution radar imaging and polarization diversity character of the target are discussed separately. 4 pattern recognition methods (statistic pattern recognition, fuzzy pattern recognition, model based and knowledge based pattern recognition, neural network) and their applications in radar target recognition also discussed. The analysis of the problem is given in the end of this paper.
