Abstract: The estimation method of rain attenuation that microwave transmit in atmosphere is discussed. Based on long-term add-up distributing of rain drop intensity in part areas of our country, the rain attenuation of X-band signal transmitting is computed. For the characteristic of spaceborne SAR, the influence of rain attenuation is analyzed, and the rain attenuation requirement designed for spaceborne SAR is developed.
