Abstract:
Digital baseband predistortion is a highly cost-effective way to linearize high power amplifiers(HPAs),but most existing architectures assume that the HPA has a memoryless nonlinearity. For wider bandwidth and multi-carriers applications,HPA memory effects can no longer be ignored, and memoryless predistortion has limited effectiveness. In this paper,an adaptive baseband predistortion linearization technique for nonlinear HPAs with memory in satellite communication systems is investigated. An adaptive predistortion concept based on memory polynomials which is constructed using the indirect learning architecture and its adaptive algorithm are presented.Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive predistorter can effectively suppress spectrum extension, reduce in-band distortion and BER for HPA with memory.
