Abstract:
Mechanical vibrations or rotations (micro-motion dynamics) of structures on a target may introduce frequency modulation on the radar return from the target's body. The modulation due to this vibration or rotation is referred to as the micro-Dopplerphenomenon. Micro-Doppler features can be regarded as a unique signature of an object with movements and provide additional information for classification, recognition and identification of the object. In this paper, we concentrate on radar micro-Doppler feature extraction for high velocity targets. Compensation of range migration brought by high velocity, translation Doppler shift adjustment, radar signal requirement, and micro-Doppler feature extraction method are discussed. A kind of micro-Doppler analysismethod for high velocity targets is simulated and the simulation results validate it.
