Abstract: Deep space ground-based exploration radar is an important technology way of astrophysics and deep space exploration. Its origin and main applications is described in the research of deep space. Its history and status of the development in foreign countries and its typical representatives that are still used are introduced briefly in this paper, as well as their relevant parameters, research results, et al. The ability and technical foundation in our country at present are summarized and the performance feature and its own particularity are analyzed, some critical technologies and solutions process are pointed out. At the end the future development trends is described, some opinions and suggestions on its future development in China are put forward, combined with the current foundation.
