Abstract: Artillery locating & calibration radars must have great abilities in high-maneuvering and all-weather working. High multitarget capability should be provided by modern artillery locating radar in complex battle circumstance, simultaneously, the probability of false targets should be reduced, so good capability of clutter suppression is very important to artillery locating radar. This article summarizes some customary methods of clutter suppression like cutter map and CFAR, and puts forward two new clutter suppression methods including track background map and velocity accurate estimation. The practical example indicates that new methods can effectively suppress false tracks like civil aircrafts and improve the capabilities of radar in targets capturing and tracking in complex environment.
