Abstract:
In this paper, the main factors that affect the tuning speed of magnetic tunable filters are analyzed. In view of the eddycurrent loss, inductance of tuning coil and hysteresis loss, which are the three main factors that preventing the high tuning speed of magnetic tunable filters, the design technology of low eddy current, low inductance and low hysteresis is adopted. Based on the same filter size and power consumption, the two magnetic circuits: laminate and bulk types are designed to achieve high tuning speed(≤310 μs / GHz) within the frequency range of 9 GHz ~ 10 GHz. The typical response curves and tuning speed test curves are given, and the test data are compared and analyzed, which show the effectiveness of this designing method. This research provides certain guiding significance and reference value for various designs of high tuning speed magnetic tunable filter.
