Design of Radome Far-field Test System Based on Modular Programming

    • To achieve high testing accuracy and efficiency, existing radome electrical performance test systems are typically developed separately for individual parameters (e.g., transmittance or boresight error), resulting in low system utilization, high development costs, and limited functional scalability. This study establishes a standardized test framework based on far-field measurement principles, integrating boresight error, boresight error slope, transmittance, and radiation pattern testing. A modular hardware architecture is proposed and implemented, complemented by a hierarchical software system divided into functionally independent modules—motion control for the turntable, vector network analyzer operation, and human-machine interaction—each programmed separately. The designed far-field radome test system, leveraging modular programming, offers a user-friendly interface, reduced development complexity, and enhanced flexibility for functional expansion and secondary development. Practical applications demonstrate that the system enables rapid and accurate measurements of boresight error, boresight error slope, transmittance, and radiation patterns.
