Abstract
Based on the motion of the platform and the scanning rules of squint SAR,this paper constructed a geometry model of air-borne SAR in squint mode.Exact expression of the length of synthetic aperture in squint mode is derived by considering the asymmetry of synthetic aperture caused by the overlap between squint angle and beam width.The mechanism of the effect of length of synthetic aperture in squint mode was analyzed,and the difference of the length of synthetic aperture between right side-looking mode and squint mode,for the same detection range and natural distance,is compared.The approximation condition was summarized and the simulation result are presented.
