True Time Delay Line System for an X-band 64 Element Phased Array Antenna System

    • A system of true-time delay line for an X-band 64 element phased arrays antennas is proposed. The variable delay is achieved by changing the length of a line chirp grated with PZT.The modulation range of the delay line is from 0 to 350 ps.The method for obtaming big value of delay by superpozing eight delays is adopted in order to have big delay for scanning angle. The system of delay is composed of 72 delay lines, which are linked serially or in parallel and group commuation.Every line modulated for its own delay value that is required for different scanning angles upon the same signal of scanning control. The scanning angle of the phased array antenna that is provided with the system is 81.2 degrees and the search data rate is 115.0 /s.
