    Design of a Configurable Numerical Control Oscillator with High Resolution

    • Based on the direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDS) technology, a tuning numerical control oscillator (NCO) with high resolution is designed. Taking frequency, area and power consumption into consideration, simulation findings are analyzed and verified according to these trade-off factors. The results show that the designed NCO can work at wide frequency band with 0. 01 Hz step resolution. And the signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) of NCO can reach 70 dB in the process of SMIC 0.13 μm CMOS with 0.183 mm2 area cost, which provides a feasible method for wave generator.
