A Study on Key Technologies of Spaceborne Video SAR System Based on GEO-LEO Bistatic Mode

    • As a new imaging mode, video synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can provide a continuous surveillance over a region of interest. The paper details an innovative video SAR system based on GEO-LEO bistatic mode, in which the transmitter on the geostationary satellite and the receiver on the low earth orbit (LEO) satellite. The LEO small satellites cover the certain area one by one, thus the system can realize a long time continuous monitoring. The echo model of this system is established. Then, a method of data segmentation and overlapping rate calculation is presented. Finally, the geometric resolution of the spaceborne video SAR system is discussed. These results of the paper could be used as a reference to build a spaceborne video SAR system.
