Abstract
Low probability of interception ( LPI) waveform is an important technical method to realize the radio frequency ( RF) stealth and active counter reconnaissance of airborne radars, its RF stealth capability evaluation is of great significance. In order to solve the problems of complex calculation and realistic consideration, an LPI waveform RF stealth performance quantitative evaluation method based on the instant time-bandwidth product is proposed. From the intercepted receiving principle and time-frequencydistribution characteristics of LPI waveform, instant time-bandwidth product factor is constructed. Simulation is carried out during which four genres of LPI waveforms are evaluated. Testing results show that the proposed method is a good measure for the RF stealth performance of LPI waveforms of airborne radars.
