    SAR Signal Bandwidth and Synthetic Aperture Time Design

    • System geometry of high altitude high speed airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is often in diving condition and highly squinted, which complicates the SAR parameter design especially for the signal bandwidth and synthetic aperture time. In this paper,diving squinted SAR geometric model is constructed, mapping relation of imaging plane and ground plane is analyzed, a single variate optimal model is established from the parameter design problem, and signal bandwidth and echo acquisition time are deduced from ground plane resolution specification. Theory analysis and simulation result verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
