    LPI Waveform Design for MIMO Radar-communication Integrated System

    • In this paper, a design of the low probability of intercept (LPI) waveform is investigated for the multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) radar-communication integrated system, where the transmitted waveform is utilized to communicate with multiple users and detect radar targets simultaneously. The primary objective of the proposed strategy is to minimize the multi-user interference in the downlink while guaranteeing the desired LPI requirement. Then, by classifying the optimization problem as the orthogonal Procrustes problem (OPP), the closed-form solution to LPI waveform has been obtained. Finally, both theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the proposed LPI waveform can achieve both radar and communication functions simultaneously. The outcomes also demonstrate that the designed waveform enhances its communication performance on the premise of guaranteeing a certain low interception performance.
